Creating
our own Demon mask
Last week, we made some
masks to celebrate St. Antoni with the 3rd and 4th graders.
We gave them some
instructions in English to see if they could understand and complete the task
at hand. These are the steps they followed:
1.- First, they
had to design their own Demon mask.
2.- After that, they had to colour it.
3.- Once it was designed and coloured, they had
to cut the masks out and add a piece of elastic so that they could wear it.
4.- Finally, the
children put on the masks and started to scare each other.
We had a great time
celebrating an important Mallorcan cultural tradition, and the children did a
fantastic job following the instructions in English. We also took advantage of
the occasion to sing the following text:
“ Sant Antoni is a good
man, a good man. And the demon is very
scary, and the demon is very scary.
Ai!!!!! Very scary. Ay!!!! Very scary”
Aquestes
varen ser les passes:
1.- Primer, havien de crear les
seves pròpies màscares de dimoni.
2.-
Després, les havien de col.lorejar.
3.-
“ Sant Antoni is
a good man, a good man. And the demon is
very scary, and the demon is very scary.
Ai!!!!! Very scary. Ay!!!! Very scary”
